Jeez Rick, that would be something.
Woah
Morty Smith, Well, It would be something like this: Nothing much would be different when you looked at a Full Moon, as would be like looking at the Day-Side of Earth from space. Looking at a New Moon, however, would be quite the spectacle, as you would see the light blasted off in space from the lunaian structures in shapes recalling, but a lot more organised than, Earth's cities. And all phases in between would be different proportions of both views.
I’d be kind of sad to see the face of the moon changed like that butnidk.
The moon is the only natural thing you can look at from your city. That would suck to see cities on it tbh

Not that waste of money.
@@kayseek1248 people like you are why progress stalls
Isn’t there a plan to go to the moon for a base now?
@@maguil01 The current Artemis Program has that as one of its end goals.
They just tested the Orion, the capsule that will take thw astronauts to the moon and back, in a successful unmanned trip. In a year and a half, they are sending a manned mission to orbit the moon and work on facilitating the trip, and the mission after that will land on it.
The missions after that third will focus on establishing a permanent base and setting the foundations for the extraction of lunar resources.
Let's make phase 2 happen already! Good luck Artemis!
Detailed mistakes: 1. A Space Shuttle with orange boosters. 2. An Apollo moon lander with the ascent stage still intact, And finally, a true moon base.

The best spots for initial colonies, the lunar poles, would have sunlight 24/7, except, perhaps, for relatively brief intervals of shade, lasting hours. The lack of any significant atmosphere would mean high powered solar energy reaching the collectors 24/7, as well, and covering the initial colonial buildings with a meter or two of lunar regolith would provide adequate protection, leaving the solar collectors exposed. This would be dramatically less expensive than treating lunar regolith with chemicals to create entire structures, requiring only simple bulldozer-type machines to move the regolith around.

People need to stop eating snakes and bats

@@DianneAlexander4858
You think snakes and bats and civets are available????? you obviously know nothing about this issue and you obviously never been to china
@@stevencoardvenice People need to stop eating animals in general. Cattle sheds in general are breeding grounds for viruses (see swine flu for a recent example), the amount of antibiotics mixed into their food is rapidly causing bacteria to become resistant to whatever antibiotics we can throw at them, it's a huge waste of agricultural ground that could otherwise be used to feed humans (it takes many kilos of cattle food to create 1 kilo of meat), animal agriculture is a huge source of greenhouse gases causing climate change and last but not least the majority of cattle are kept under circumstances that can only be described as torture. We've already figured from which plant sources we can get the nutrients and vitamins we usually get from animal consumption so there's really no logical reason why we still eat them. If there's one lesson the current COVID pandemic has taught us it's that the Earth cannot sustainably provide meat for 8 billion people.
Weerknuffelbeer yeah, but until we create a cheap meat substitute made of plants that tastes identical most people won’t

I am surprised nobody mentioning artemis, which is technically the same thing as this, where instead of a base on moon, its the gateway in the orbit of moon, which can later be used to goto mars or the beyond. The thing is that, this video was made in 2018, a whole year before that was announced.
I think artemis is the beginning of all space travel. Scifi movies will become a reality because of this.
I was thinking of that
Artemis apparently wants to have a moon base by 2030. Artemis is promising as it is bringing us back to the moon in a period where there isn't that much of a Space Race (like the Cold War) meaning that it can be sustainable and won't end as soon as one side declares victory. I hope Artemis starts it all.

NASA’s actually planning to return humans to the moon by 2024, so... we’ll get those moon bases soon...?
@@blankforever5399 2024 has already slipped to 2028 for Artemis. We're now running so far behind schedule of human expansion that wealthy individuals are just doing it themselves instead of waiting for the government.
@@darthtiberius3716 Its because of a million different reasons, we spend more money funding our allies and NATO than we do in international aid to 3rd world countries. The simple fact is that the people in countries capable of funding space programs (the first world) face far too many practical day-to-day problems to care about space colonization, like poverty and medical debt. The only reason we had so many advances in the 50's and 60's is because it was internationally motivated by the cold war, it was more about measuring dicks than actual human curiosity in space. Once the competition was over, we stopped caring.
However, the biggest barrier to space exploration is simply the division on our own world. Countries are far too worried about enriching themselves more than their neighbors to focus on space travel, we wont see true progression in space until globalization has finally run its course and we stop looking at ourselves as a collection of nations on the globe and start looking at ourselves as earthlings part of something much greater.
Imagine if Germany used there entire budget surplus to do this and just decided that the whole moon was theirs.

Very likely as you can see something similar to scientists living in Antarctica for long periods of time

not really the actual budget would be way up after the project starts.Experts are bad at estimating cost. The apollo program itself cost 100 billion in adjust inflation.
We need a remake of this with the new Artemis launch.

Best video ever! Yes, the moon is our first step toward interstellar travelling!
I love how he refers politics as a thing that stops humanity from going further lmao
Well, it's one of many I suppose. Scientific breakthroughs need full support from the governments that allow them to happen or they go along at a snail's pace.
where did he lie tho
Probably because it is
Its one of the major things yes, paradoxically politics is both how we make progress and progress is stopped in todays world. For space almost no one in power has any will for it, since when playing the political game you have very little time to achieve your goals in say, democracies, so your incentive is to only work on short term objectives that give you the most benefits, space exploration meanwhile is a decades spanning endeavor meaning no one who would start the projects will see any benefit aside from potential fame, and once they lose their power for whatever reason the next person can come along and shut it all down directly or indirectly

Oil forms from decomposed organic matter, if there was oil on the moon that'd mean dinosaurs came from the moon :O

This is actually true, at least as I recall. Both private industry and governments are very interested for precisely that reason. The first ones to exploit space/the moon will have a huge advantage and probably be hailed as saviours of the race or some such.
tell the US that there is oil on the moon. That's all you need to do.
the US would invade the moon with a military force, bomb the shit out of it, declare victory and go home though
theres no oil on the moon tho
Nasa: I heard the moon has oil.
USA: DId somebody say oil?
USA: The moon is now on the CIA terrorist list and will be liberated with FREEDOM.
Wow this is looking to be sooner than I thought, and especially now.
Im happy that none of the videos that this man makes are never boring
Ah yes, "this man", implying this channel isn't run by a whole team of people working incredibly hard for over a thousand hours per video, no it's just a single person cos he's the one who narrates it
We're going to have to figure out a way to prevent illegal aliens from landing on the moon base, I think a space wall could work.
I see what you did there ^^
And we will let them pay for it. How 'bout that?
i think aliens already found another interesting planet
Didnt you do airsoftreviews back in the day?^^
Why aliens and not earthlings? Most immigrants come from ancient countries. When moon is colonized we will be the ancient ones.
Imagine how cool it would be to have the earth in the backround of a school picture, or wedding.
yuki1014 001 “our origins” “our home” “our planet” for some reason its very emotional and makes me smile, human race is truly fascinating
And there would finally be a quote "home sweet world"
It would grow old within a week max.

the "月" on the cargo means "moon" in Chinese (and some other languages).
Kurzgesagt sarcarsm is the world finest: "Sadly, getting governaments into doing long term investments for the good of humanity is hard"
Sad thing is it's not sarcasm
Hell they barely care about the short-term.
The "government" didnt make things profitable that it just becomes second nature to do it.
Is that sarcasm? I took it as a statement of fact.
We vote our governments in. People lucky enough to live in democracies should take some responsibility for our short-sighted government.
Imagine the moon people’s accent after 100 years
